Calgon Carbon
Hazardous Waste AST Replacement
$35,000

A 25,000-gallon fiberglass aboveground storage tank had reached the end of its design life. The tank had contained slurry water used to mobilize spent carbon to regeneration furnaces. FRC removed and disposed of the sludge from the tank, triple washed the tank in accordance with an approved closure plan, and then demolished the tank. FRC installed the new tank, replacing all piping and fittings, including the influent and discharge lines, vents, the tank level gauge board, a ladder, and an OSHA rail. FRC provided its professional engineer's certification required for the old and new tanks. The entire project was performed within a seven-day plant shutdown.
